She had become completely lost without my father. When I had decided I wanted to commemorate my father for her, my first thought was to commission Jessie, my friend, and a person I knew to be of immeasurable talent, as I had seen in her previous works. I knew she was a person of great skill and dedication to her craft, and that she would be able to create a work that would be suitable for my mother’s memory. However, I was not quite prepared for just HOW well she captured my father. The painting of him displays details of his expressions, and minor facial features that most would consider insignificant, but serve to give true life to the painting.
